Version number prefix
I have noticed that the version number prefix changes from time to time. For example, it changed recently from 1.9 to 1.10. What is the significance of this?

A change in minor version signifies a small change in ABI, requiring that clients using one or more language binding recompile when using that build. Some small code changes may also be required.

Most changes only require recompilation for C++ clients. The change that prompted us to move to 1.10 was a change in the v-table for IDvInvocation, passed to all actions in device stack clients. There were no changes that affect Java clients.
